I mentioned a few posts ago that cell phones have games on them. The other day, I found the video games on my cell phone. There are two, that came with the phone. Neither is a flash game, but both are good for mindless, mobile escapism.
The first game I played was Snake. Gameplay was simple: using the phone's function keys, I steered the snake around the screen to eat the pieces of of food, and occasional bonus bugs, that would appear. The snake started with 8 segments, and gained a segment with every piece of food he ate. Scoring was also simple: one point per meal, ten points per bonus.
Sounds easy, right? Well, not for too long. After eating 12 items, the snake was 20 segments long, and getting longer. If you bite your own tail, you lose the game, so you as the snake got longer, the game got harder. I scored over 200 points on one game. I have no idea how long the snake was, but I did have to end the game on purpose because I reached my subway stop to go to work....
The second game was bowling, and I tried that one on my way home from work. Again, it used the function keys to control spin, speed, and angle of the bowling ball. With some trial and error, I found the settings to score 8 on every first throw, but I never did figure out how to win on the resulting split. Honestly, I liked Snake better. I'll have to look for it on a flash game version...
