Even though we have not yet reached the end of the school year, the children are somehow convinced that Summer has begun. The start of the Summer seems to mean that the time for having fun has arrived. Although it is officially still called Spring and the kids do still have to get up early each morning for school, bedtime has suddenly become unintentionally later. In spite of the fact that they still do their homework and during the school day tests and exams remain scheduled, sunshine and an element of fun is in the air.
One goes past the shops and shopping malls and instead of the wintry umbrellas and sweaters, one can now find swimming rings and sunshades. The seasons have changed. Hidden deep into storage space are the boots and coats - their places taken over by swimwear, sandals and bright colourful beach towels. All it takes is one little visit to the beach. It can be a short trip - but this is a memorable outing that appears to complete the transfer of the seasons. That breath of the sea air and the feel of the sand between the toes is enough to convince anyone that Summer has begun. After all, Summer means fun. Soon, the children's school books and pencils will be forgotten - traded happily for sun hats and ice cream. Beach games, building sand castles and tunnels and learning to swim does sound like a whole lot more fun than sitting a classroom all day, after all!
Warmer air has begun blowing in our direction. I feel that the sea and the beach are calling. Let us not forget the option of the swimming pool either. Summer is on the way and now there is no holding back! We have to prepare ourselves and get into water mode. We need to look out for the sun creams, hats, swimwear and get ready for action. We have been waiting patiently - well, I suppose sometimes impatiently - throughout the long winter. All those rainy days - and I was dreaming about going to the sea. Clothed in thick layers during the cold weather and I fantasised about having the sun warming my body. Now, it is already the month of May and the summer is almost here.
Fun and entertainment is so different in the summer - I certainly know which season I prefer! I love to go to the beach and feel the sand under my toes. I am happy to be able to enter the sea in order to cool my skin. What could be a better way of reducing the body heat than enjoying nature's waves. I cannot wait much longer. Just the thought of it is making me envious of those who are at the sea and enjoying themselves there right now. I have to note that I would much rather be having fun at the sea, than sitting in front of the computer writing this. So what remedy can you think of for this problem? Yes - you've got it - goodbye!
